(Das wilde Leben), Achim Bornhak, D 2007, German / Czech subtitles, 114 min

This biopic depicts the wild life of Uschi Obermaier, a woman-icon of the 1968 generation. When she turned twenty, Uschi left her bourgeoisie parents in a small Bavarian town and set out to discover sexual freedom and independent life – at first in a legendary Berlin commune Kommune 1, where hippies, student leaders, and future radical-left terrorists lead a life free from all social pressures and conventions.

Uschi grew close to a member of the commune Rainer Langhans, but he was too jealous to tolerate her love affairs, and Uschi soon found out that leftist ideals are nothing but empty words. She left the commune and embarked on love affairs with Mick Jagger and Keith Richard. She became a top-model and gained recognition as the sex-symbol of her age. Her personal freedom, though, was more important to her, and with her husband, an owner of a pub in a Hamburg red-light district, she abandoned the glitz of fame and for many years traveled the world in a hippie bus.

Welcome to the wild life! The motto is: Sex, Drugs and Rock’n’Roll!
