By day Arthur Poppington is a simple-minded construction worker, but at night he puts on his spandex costume to scour the crime-infested streets of the city as the self-appointed vigilante Defendor. He has no superpowers and his weapons look more like they were made by kids than sophisticated instruments of crime fighting. There is no doubt that Arthur is nuts. Then again, you have to be nuts to want to be a hero in this corrupt world. Woody Harrelson excels in this bitter–sweet drama based on a realistic interpretation of the life of comic book super-heroes.
