He nuzzles a calf like a best friend, lovingly singing a song into its ears. Tinar spends more or less all his time with the calf and the rest of the herd that he has been hired to take care of.
A passionate and soulful portrait of a young cowherd, this documentary takes you on a journey with a boy whose only companions are the large herd of cows that he looks after on a daily basis. But his hopes, dreams and fears are no different than anybody else’s.
Tinar received Special Mention in the documentary category at the 2010 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, and is considered by many critics to be one of the best documentaries to have come out of Iran in the last ten years.
